Chinese Student Visa
Eligibility
- Issued to a person whose intent in China is for study, advanced studies or intern practice for a period longer than 6 (six) months. Person coming to China for less than 6 (six) months shall use an F Visa.
- Master Visa Service can only serve applicants who are residents in the jurisdiction for the Chinese Consulate of Chicago. The Chicago jurisdiction includes the following states:
- Colorado
- Illinios
- Indiana
- Iowa
- Kansas
- Michigan
- Minnesota
- Missouri
- Wisconsin
Requirements for US Citizens
- US valid/signed passport in good condition (must not expire in less than six months) with at least one blank visa pages (Note: pages 22, 23, 24 are NOT visa pages)
- One visa application form typed, signed, completely filled out informing purpose of the trip. Handwritten applications will not be accepted.
- One recent 2in X 2in passport style photo on high quality photo paper. Your head must face the camera directly with full face in view against a white backdrop. You must have a neutral facial expression or a natural smile, with both eyes open. No large earrings, glasses, hat or head covering unless it is for religious purposes. Do not use staples to affix your photo to your application.
- An approved Foreign Student Visa Application Form (JW201 or JW202) issued by the authorized Chinese unit, and an enrollment letter from the Chinese school.
- Applicant who will study in China for more than one year shall also provide aPhysical Examination Certificate for Foreign Citizen (.pdf file, Right Click to download)
- Applicant whom was born in China and now holds another foreign passport, is required to submit their Chinese passport with a Chinese visa.

- Applicants who were born in China, must include a copy of a previous Chinese visa or their last original Chinese passport. Make sure the Chinese Name field (Part 1.2) is filled in on the Chinese visa application in Chinese characters.
- Minors: Applicants under the age of 18 need to provide a copy of their birth certificate and a photocopy of their parents’ passports. If a parent does not have a passport, then a parental letter of authorization may be submitted instead.
